# How to Disable VPN

> Step-by-step guide to disable VPN on various devices and resolve service access issues.

If you arrived at this page from a [**Highmark.it**](http://Highmark.it) network site, you are likely **using a VPN**. Keep in mind that **on many of our services, VPN usage is prohibited**, not for security reasons, but to ensure proper access or checks functioning.

## Did you activate the VPN accidentally?

### However, VPN is banned on many HighMark IT network services for security reasons, so here is how to disable it if you did it accidentally:

### How to Disable a VPN

Here is how to do it, depending on the device you are using:

### **On Windows PC**

1. **Open Settings** (press `Win + I`)
2. Go to **Network & Internet > VPN**
3. If you see an active VPN connection, **click on it and press Disconnect**
4. Close the browser and reopen it, then try accessing again

### **On Mac**

1. **Open System Preferences**
2. Go to **Network**
3. Select the active VPN connection in the left sidebar
4. Click **Disconnect**
5. Close the browser and reopen it, then try accessing again

### **On Android**

1. **Open Settings**
2. Go to **Network & Internet > VPN**
3. If a VPN is active, tap it and select **Disconnect**
4. Close the browser and reopen it, then try accessing again

### **On iPhone/iPad**

1. **Open Settings**
2. Go to **VPN**
3. Toggle the switch to disable the VPN
4. Close the browser and reopen it, then try accessing again

### **If using a Browser Extension**

Some VPNs work via browser extensions (like Chrome or Firefox):

1. **Click on the browser extension icon** (usually top right)
2. **Find the VPN and disable or disconnect it**
3. Reload the page
